Our vision and mission
Rehabit is registered with the Charity Commission (charity number: 1188034).
Our vision is that everyone struggling with drugs or alcohol gets the help they need without falling through the gaps in the mental health system or getting trapped in it.
Our mission is to reduce the negative impact of drug and alcohol addiction on our communities and help those struggling to find recovery and lead healthy and productive lives.
Sometimes it the simple things that make a difference:
- We are embedded in the community and respected by partners
- We specialise in clients others often can’t help (with caveat we don’t do detox)
- We go to where our clients are
- We respond immediately
- We don’t have a waiting list
- We are flexible and understanding about meeting times
- We give people more than one chance and don’t give up on those who’ve tried before

As well as being CEO, Sean writes screenplays and his first film is due to be shot in 2026-27. He's also a freelance writer and communications consultant; and before that a head of communications at BT with roles that touched PR, marketing, and internal communications.
Sean is a recovering addict, thirteen years clean and sober, and has held voluntary peer support roles helping others with their addiction. He is also an active member of 12-step recovery fellowships and chair of related committees. He's a firm believer that no addict should get left behind.

<h3>Biography</h3>
Jo trained as a nurse and social worker and worked in NHS and Social Care settings
ranging from working with street drinkers , in a residential detox unit, developing
shared care services for substance misusers and supporting the development of
primacy care teams in London. As part of the NHS London Leadership Academy, Jo
continued to work with primary care workforce and patient/citizen leaders to support
the aspirations of the Fuller Stocktake to move from what’s the matter with you to
what matters to you.
Now retired, Jo hopes to use her experience and connections to support the work of
ReHabit to raise awareness of the issues and strengthen the voices of people with
complex needs who cannot always access the help they need from the services on
offer.

<h3>Biography</h3>
Jack has worked at a high level of the music and media industries since leaving university, across business development, artist management and licensing. In recent years, he's gone about rediscovering how important health and good relationships are, which he'd like to focus on in his working life from now on. He found recovery over two years ago, and currently volunteers as a peer supporter for Rehabit and is a dedicated service member of AA. In his spare time he's usually parenting his stepkids, cycling around London with his dog Teddy, exercising, meditating or cooking.

<h3>Biography</h3>
<p>Jamie is currently working as the COO for a London Housing Association, looking after the care and support of both local authority and self-funding elderly residents whose needs cannot be met elsewhere in the community. He also has years of experience from the healthcare sector, both private and public, in roles ranging from change management to executive board.</p><p>He is particularly interested in helping the charity with their work with addiction due to personal experience of the lack of funding and support available within complex systems to those that need it the most, and helping those who are at risk of getting lost in 'the system'.</p>

<h3>Biography</h3>
Dave brings a wealth of leadership, business and commercial experience in the charity sector where he has established long-term relationships that continue to serve communities.
He's particularly proud of the work he's done with young people and those facing physical and learning difficulties, where he excelled at introducing safeguarding and data protection policies. During his corporate career, Dave was recognised for motivational and transformational change programmes and working closely with board-level executives.

Our counsellors
- Our counsellors are diverse in background, the modalities they use, and their experience. We have a new trainee who’s also in recovery, a psychologist doctor who works in neurology for the NHS, a new counsellor who’s primary work is in the LGBTQ+ community, and two others who have background in addiction, care work and ex-offenders.
